I vaguely remember a thread last year about a light weight aluminum skid house. I don’t recall if it was spray foamed or not. Anybody know the name / web address of the manufacture?
Thanks.

Aluma lite brand is growing in popularity. Google it. Quite a few places peddling them.
Beberg Outdoors sells a couple different brands DB. Look on Craigslist under aluminum ice shack/shanty and you will find some.
Yea check out bebergs. They have some videos on YouTube of builds. They can custom build for you.

Spray foamed makes it ridiculously warm.Light also correct?
Wouldn’t be able to tell you how much weight the foam adds. Worth the weight I tell ya that. Easily get away with small buddy heater making more room in shack.
Ice Cave Chippewa Falls
Thank you, exactly what I was looking for.
Most of the ones I see advertised are around 700 pounds for a 6×10 all aluminum spray foamed shack.
Dutch,
When I was looking I found you can get a good deal at the end of the season and go directly to the Manufacturer.
http://www.soderbloom.com/skidhouse.html makes a good one and if I remember correctly the owner says he has a video of his son driving one around in open water with a outboard motor in one of the holes. So it actually does float.
Beberg is a middleman and does mark them up quite a bit however if you want one customized they do a good job and they have plenty videos of there modifications.
Thanks, I don’t need much for mods, just the wood around 1/2 way up. I’m going down to look at the Ice Caves after Christmas to see what I think. They seem lighter and cheaper so we will see.
Have some more investigating to do.
I haven’t figured out what’s best for me on my lake but I would like a hard sided shack.
If I did get a aluminum skid house and left it out overnight, I would have decals put on it stating “this house is GPS tracked”. To take it one step further I would figure out a way to put a large screw in a hole to secure the shack from being pulled.
I would also put a big purple Vikings decal on it so no one would want it.
glad I read the title three or four times as I was going to say he is a big feller that use to play basketball

What about 1 or 2 of those angel wing type ice anchors that you put into an angered hole?

Absolutely with the trackers. Almost a must have if you were to leave it on the ice.
Strobes might be a deterrent.
