Setting the sale price on Lund?

I have a very low 113 hrs 2005 Lund Explorer with a Yamaha that I bought brand new back in 05. Been kept in my garage since the day I bought it. I took a new job a couple years ago that allows me more time to fish and I want to sell for a tiller boat. The NADA value for boat, motor and trailer is $19038. What should I reasonably expect? With the way boats are selling right now I believe I should at least get book price right? I have a decent graph in a 999 ci SI a power drive Minnkota with Copilot, nothing earth shattering on the technology front! Anyone with some insight I would much appreciate it.

I’ve been watching the lund market and while not for your model. I’d say ask 20k or even 21k. If it’s in nice shape it’ll go, if it’s over priced you’ll figure it out then recalibrate…for me seeing the low hours and Yamaha and 1 owner boat garaged as big selling points.

hate to tell you, but that $19K number is the list price when new, not the current value.

Of course, the way that boat sales are nowadays, you might actually get that!

It all depends on how fast you want to move it and the shape of it.
Does it have any bad dock rash? Is the carpet clean and not worn? How’s the trailer? I’ve seen some of those rigs on nice heavy Eagle bunk trailers and many on the white shorelander roller trailers that rust quick and show wear easily.

I sold a 2004 with aout 300 hours on it a couple years ago before the prices went absolutely nuts. It was in decent shape but had some dock rash and serious cracking in the dash. Also had an 80# terrova and Helix 9.

I got a thousand bucks over book value at that time and had 10 offers in a day.

I think your estimate is wrong but ask alot and see what happens. My guess is book on that boat is ~$10k.

Without knowing the length of the boat, the specific motor (4 stroke? hp?) we can’t even really guess. But in my opinion 20k is high, even if it’s the 1800 with a 150hp 4-stroke yamaha.

yeah its tough to say. 90hp or 150hp…

    I got a 04 1775 proV with a 115 Yamaha, vantage, minnkota up front some old Lowrance’s in 2014 for 16,000.
    Has it gotten that nuts?

Has the transom been replaced? Those years are bad for rotten transoms just something to think about when you sell it. I talked to a lot of lund owners in those years that think there transom is fine until they actually find out its completely rotted mine included.

    There’s a 2002 Pro V 1800 with Yamaha 150 hp listed on Marketplace for 18k, and a 2003 Pro V 1900 with a 200 hp Merc for $19500, so I’m saying there’s a chance…! toast

I just saw a 2004 1775 Lund Pro V on Facebook marketplace. It had a 115 Johnson. It was listed by a dealer for 13.5K. It looks like it is sold now.

I agree. There’s not enough info to really give accurate advice and either way I think 20k is quite high. Most are going to want their own extras from the get go and won’t value your electronics that are listed. As always, if you aren’t desperate to move on from it start a little high and let the market set the price. Anything without calls/texts/emails consistently coming in the same week it’s posted is likely high.

On a separate note, there really seems to be a pricing cutoff with used boats. Anything 10-15k that is reliable, reasonably priced, and in decent will sell pretty fast with cash offers. Once you head to that 20k mark, the options towards going new start to factor in. At this price point, people are likely to try and finance recreational purchases or consider just going new with the rates today and length of loans.

Thanks for letting me know on the book price that is why I asked the question. I have seen several similar boats for as much or more than that. I guess I will try a bit high and see how it goes. Thanks for input!

I forgot to mention I have a Yamaha 115 4 stroke. No the transom is not rotten. The boat has very little use and has been stored inside. If I was buying a single console boat it would be the one I would want. Only seen rain a handful of days and not much rough water as I usually fished smaller lakes.

    Wow!
I sold a 2004 1800 ProV SC with 150 Yamaha F150 with 300 hours with quality accessories for 21,500 back in 2012. 3 dealers all told me that was way more than they would give me in trade. Boat sales are NUTS!!

Yes mine was stored inside all the time also. The rot happens from water coming over the splash well when backing up. The top cap on these boats was not sealed and allowed the water to enter and once it was in there it had no place to go causing a rotted transom. Easiest way to check it is to check your bolts holding the motor on. Crack the lock nut loose and see if it will tighten, if it does it’s rotten.

List it for $15k on FB and see how many hits you get. If none lower it to $13k. Make sure to have titles in hand and clean it up with good pics of everything. You still will get lots of dumb questions, this I know because I just sold my 2008 in 1 hour, had people willing to drive 10 hours to pick it up and pay asking price in cash.

Call your bank. I believe they will only loan so much of the loans valve. Then you can go from there. Good luck!

Super Cat yes I get what you are saying. Mine is solid. I Have splash guards which stops most of the water from coming over the splash wells. The boat only has 113hrs on the motor so that shows how little use it really has. It has been a garage queen so really not much chance to rot. Thanks for your input though.

in 2018 I sold my 1997 Lund pro Sport 1700 with 90hp Merc for $9k. Similar situation- very low hours, garage kept, etc. It did have dock rash on one side due to sitting at a dock on Mille Lacs during a storm.
