Seriously, where are they?

Where are the eyes and the smallmouth in pool 2 when the water temps are below 45? I winterized the boat to early this year so this past week I tried the shore near minnehaha outlet, the entire shore north and south of hidden falls, lions levee park and numerous spots in grey cloud island…only a few small fish caught. Where do they hang out?

I have zeroed in on a location just north of 494 to try next…

I boated about 25-30 on Tuesday when I was out. They were out off shore about 20 yards in 9-14feet on current seems.

Try vertical jigging some of the deeper spots of the river. Places like the confluence and airport are well known spots. Shoreline rocks can be good early and late day.

Anyone use jigging raps in some deeper water? It seems like Pool 2 fish always like a little meat. But after having some good luck on these on some lakes, I was tempted to try them around the airport and some deeper pools.

They work dave. Rippin raps to. Even some of the heavier ice fishing spoons.
