I can’t wait until our bosses at St. Paul issue a sticker for my duck waders.

In some cases, they already have! Bait dealers/trappers, if working in a waterway that passes under a roadway/through a culvert and eventually into a lake, need to have their waders marked–one for each side of the road. With water running UNDER the roadway, it takes TWO pairs of waders to be legal if going into the water on both sides of the road. Brilliant! God forbid if one walks from the water on one side of the road, crosses the road and walks into the same water. LOL While crossing the road, you are “Transporting” AIS? Surely, if in the same body of water, you are not “spreading” it so what is this law all about? Stupidity/ignorance at it’s best. And more than 50 percent of the people vote for this–obviously?
And the likes of Sen. Tom Saxhaug vote for this stuff…among MOST lawmakers.
Is it any wonder I don’t participate anymore? I’m breaking the law? I give a shi* almost as much as our representatives do.
Politicians….. scum of the earth. nothing more nothing less. Even the good ones that start in a local setting, if they manage to make it up the ladder they become corrupt like the rest.

Exactly correct,I have recently found even the ones starting at a local level are just as corrupt, and will do anything to cover up the truth if it doesnt fit their agenda. The question is how can it be stopped??

I would like to point out that this fine may be $25 but in reality with court fees and all it will end up topping $100.
It does not make me feel any better that I did not vote this guy in either.
Self proclaimed dogooders only obstruct progress.

Brian, was this in a recent statement of Saxhog? I didn’t vote for him and I wished I would have spent time getting the votes against him.

As much fun as it is to express funny and pointed remarks toward legislators, if you really want to make a difference it means taking the time to build relationships with legislators on both sides of the issue. Then building coalitions with groups and individuals who will help you get your message heard. Most will say I don’t have time or this doesn’t interest me; just organizing a meeting, inviting anglers and a legislator or two might be all it takes.
Politicians count on regular guys doing the right thing, yet the politicians bend and turn all the rules in there favor.Test, stickers are you kidding me , none of these things are gonna stop anything,if the people at the capital are this disconnected from reality we are all screwd !These kind of new regulations and fee’s are just another way to tax us .Fishermen need to band together , buy are own politicians, than we can start managing the states wildlife resources like they should be managed.Instead of these lawmakers leaning which ever way the wind happens to be blowing.

Most will say they only have one life.
In fact, I say THEY should be coming to US and building relationships! I’m not paying my taxes to to figure out what they are thinking…this is their JOB. THEY get paid for it. I have to work to pay for THEM!
If I was them, I would hide in the capital as well.
I truly believe a person gets into politics with all honorable intentions.
When they get elected it doesn’t take long to figure out that the monster is to big to change. So they end up joining em. It has been that way since the p0Greek empire. Unfortunately it’s simply Human Nature. That’s why I never expect anything good to come from government.
