Caught this 5.2 lb, 21.5″ in 4 feet of water yesterday.
Downed willow tree in water and threw my Hybrid Hunter translucent 2-4′ diving crank across the front of it and retrieved it back. Hit it hard. Looked like an old fish but was shocked it hit it at 12 noon in broad sunlight. We hadn’t had a bite in over 90 minutes before that. Water temp was 71.5
Pretty fun. Had told my buddy, “the American flag dock is the last one before we leave ( it was the next dock) ” He was pitching worms under the docks at that point.

Haha. Always a delay and then there’s doubles. Thats ok its a dandy largemouth.

71.5 degrees? That’s quite a bit lower than what I’ve seen recently. I saw 78 degrees still last weekend. Maybe the day of rain and cooler temps in between dropped it.

The same lake one week earlier had areas between 74-78
    Yesterday was 71.5-74
Both graphs said the same thing…
    I was a little confused but….

The temp at the lake we fished yesterday was down about 4 Deg’s as well. Was at 74. Think the big rain cooled it off some. With the forecasted temps coming up it will not be low for long

That does appear to be an older looking fish. Still a nice fish

    The dance – oh yeah….
It was definitely older looking. The other big bass I caught out there was dark green and just felt really healthy.
Yes, the first thing I said to my nephew was “this thing looks pretty old”
This felt like a senior citizen. Had the same brown “age spot” like its fin on the top of the head too. And a very pale complexion.
    Still fun though.
