My 2018 alumacraft came with Springfield pneumatic pedestals. I have replaced all 3 on warranty in 2022. Worked fine until late last summer/fall, all 3 seats are no longer holding the desired height.
Any suggestions on better equipment I can try?
I’ve looked at WavePro and Smoothmoves options, I really don’t want to spend $2k for replacements.

I had that same issue. I found that if you adjust the screw in, that actuates the height adjustment, it stops the pedestal from sinking. Here is a video to help.
Slough – yes those are pedestals I have. I did a warranty claim about 2-3 years ago because of the same problem. Springfield did replace these quickly but I’m in the situation again.
G – raff seems to me I tried this a couple years back as a suggestion from Springfield, it didn’t work and i submitted a warranty claim, they sent new pedestals. Pretty sure they have a 5 year warranty on these items.
I will try adjusting the pedestals and see what it does. Hope it works but I do have a message out to Springfield too.

My seat bases wobble and wiggle a ton. almost seems like it is going to fall apart at any moment. Anyone have that issue?
What year boat? If its a 20 year old boat that can be expected as the floor probably is rotting.

My 2019 Alumacraft pedestals are junk as well. The day I brought the boat home the captains chair would sag down an not rise back up. I bitched to the dealer and was told it was normal. All 4 of my bases are sloppy even when you snug up the adjustment screws.
I have been looking for a cheap fix but sadly that seems hard to find. I think that I might go back to a pin style base??
