Seat base over live well leaks when full.

I have a 2010 Explorer Sport 1850. Every time I fill the rear livewell water comes up thru the hole in the seat base directly over the livewell. There is nothing in there to stop it. I thought about caulking it or spraying foam to seal it.
Anybody else got a fix for such an issue?

did you install the livewell overflow tube at full length or cut it to fit the tank depth?

    Everything is stock from Lund.

My biggest issue is that water “jumps” out this hole when you shut the livewell lid. Everyone I fish with thinks we are taking on water on our way to the bottom of the lake.
It’s a design flaw from Lund. They put a seat base directly over the rear livewell. I can reach into the livewell and stick my finger thru the hole at the bottom of the seat base.

If the overflow tube were lowered 8″ I’d never have this problem.

My stratos does the same thing. The seat post hole is at the edge of the livewell and it splashes up out of the hole in side to side waves. I put a piece of duct tape on the underside and put a layer of silicone in the bottom, and pulled the tape after it dried. That cured the issue. I never put a seat there so that wasn’t an issue.

Cut a circle from a plastic bottle and use Goop to attach to bottom of the seat base. Not in the seat base but the outside that you can reach thru the livewell. Did that with my Explorer. No more splashing.
