Is there a certain way you should take care of a skin mount eye? I have one hanging up and all I’ve done is just dust it.

    Congrats on the fish James!

In addition to knowing the PB for open water for James…what about PJ’s PB on walleye? Just curious. He seems to catch a lot of big fish.

For mine, the taxidermist said to keep the dust from accumulating. I wipe with a damp paper towel, the whole mount. Also, don’t hang in direct sunlight or high heat areas, such as above a fireplace. My taxidermist also said, if your fish ever begins to look less than lifelike, bring it back and he will freshen it up… it still looks great after 25 years !

Wow James I know you put in a ton of time and have earned that fish. Hope one day I can get over the 30 mark. Congrats on that beautiful trophy. Hope to see it at the open house some day soon.

My heaviest / biggest open water walleye is a Pool 4 beastie that weighed 13#, 13oz. I’ve guided people to bigger / heavier fish on the river but that’s my PB.

James, I think it is pretty awesome to see you guys keeping a few for the fry pan and catching a PB ice walleye!! Good Job!!

I am going to guess that you guys will never forget the work it took to get that airboat back home. The mount you are getting will have a great story to go with it.
