Search button

When I hit the search button to search for something it kicks me out to full google search site? What am I doing wrong?

Don’t click on the magnifying glass.. click into the text box.

That’s how the search box works on IDO. It uses Google’s search engine to search for keywords and phrases on this site. Here’s a screenshot of my search for the word “bass” using the IDO search button.

Sorry I must be dumb but as soon as I hit the search button it goes to Google before I can type in what to search for??

As Sharon said, that’s how this site functions.

I know it is painful but is what it is. I’m not a tech guy and the technology might be outdated. Dunno. But I don’t expect a ton from an outdated, possibly defunct website. Try searching hotspot outdoors(hso) or lake state fishing forums and you’ll likely see that this one is still the best(and operational somehow).

We need a revival of outdoor forums that are not Facebook.

Do as Big-g suggests. Hover over the search icon (do NOT click on it) then move your pointer into the “Search” field and click. Then type in what you want to search for and hit enter.
It will then show a page like Sharon shared and these should predominantly be things from the IDO page.

Bingo. I click the word search not the icon. I just tried the icon and it took me right to Google.
