I did not realize that there were different classes for SD cards. The biggest I saw on Ebay was a class 10. Does the class matter in trail cameras?

I found this on a trail camera review site.

Using “High Speed” SD cards: High speed SD cards are meant for high-end point & shoot and DSLR cameras, not for game cameras. Game cameras don’t write as fast to the SD card as regular digital cameras because of the tradeoff with battery life (nobody expects their DSLR to run for 3-4 months on one charge or set of batteries). Therefore, you can get some weird things when you try to use one of these cards in a game camera.

Funny you should bring this up. I am having issue with 2 of my Moultrie cams and the first thing they asked when you call customer service was what kind of SD cards are you using and is it a class 10. I have no idea what class they are. They actually recommend class 10.

It seemed like a few years ago there was a lot of discussion about this and it was all over the map as to which cameras seemed not to work with which chips. I haven’t seen much mention of this lately.

I have all Bushnell TrophyCams, the oldest is 5 years old, the newest was bought last week. I have a bunch of chips bought over the same period, some Class 10, some not, and they all work fine.

I always test cameras before putting it out on duty. My personal test is to strap the camera out by my kids swing set/play fort. That gets lots of use and so the camera is busy for a whole day and any issues are revealed. I’d be tempted to buy one Class 10 chip at Walmart or somewhere and try yours just to be sure.

Thanks, I was doing a little late night Ebay surfing and bought a Bushnell Trophy Cam 8mp.
