screen static

With my F200 idling the HDS touch 9 on the dash works fine, until I increase engine speed to 1000-2000 then I get a bunch of static on the screen. This is not fast enough for air to get under the keel and the factory epoxied in transducer of the Skeeter MX 1825 so I am thinking is must be electrical interference. The electronics on this boat all run through the in dash electrical system so where would I start looking for a problem?

Start by wiring them directly to the battery. This should take care of your problem. Test first by running wires from the battery to the unit(exterior). If that takes care of it, then run the wires under the floor to the battery

X2 start with hooking the unit yup directly to the battery and don’t forget to add an inline fuse.

The inline fuse is very important, a must have part of the wiring when going directly to a battery. It is also very important to install a switch to be able to turn the power off to the unit. If power is on all the time, even with the power button turning off the unit, some of your unit is kinda on standby with the power on. This is not good for the unit. Either install the wire to an on/off switch or unhook the wires from the battery for storage.
