Jabbing kids from 6 months to 5 years is the lead story on ABC news tonight. The 2 school shootings will come later.

    1) Covid
    2) Weather
    3) Fertilizer plant fire
    4) Harrisburg college shooting
    5) Richfield school shooting

Seems if “it bleeds it leads” doesn’t always hold true.

Rising violent crime rates doesn’t fit the narrative pushed by mainstream media during this upcoming election cycle.

It’s not gonna change what happened. But saying don’t watch the news and not worry about it is pretty crappy. Maybe you don’t have kids and doesn’t hit home to you but if it was somebody’s kids on here or somebody you knew then maybe you would think different

Strib writes that two arrests were made in Minneapolis in connection with the case. No one is charged as yet, no names released. Names likely won’t be released if the suspects are juveniles.

The South Education Center is a mile and a half from our home. A pal is the Richfield police chaplain, have yet to speak to him but he certainly will be involved.

KSTP? They must have read your concerns, I looked at their live feed at 6pm and the school shootings were the lead.

Coletrain, with all due respect, Did I ever even hint that I didn’t Care?? I not only have Kids, I have 2 that are teachers in the metro area, so yes I care. Did I say “don’t worry” about it? NEVER. Me not watching news does not change the news. The original post was about the news not reporting this as the lead story, that is precisely why I don’t watch news, I read news. Please don’t put words in my mouth.

I quit as well. It’s just a headache. Tell me more about Covid, my give a f^&ks are up on that one. Regarding school shootings, all they ever do with that one is push gun control, they should outlaw murder.

    Statement from the school Superintendent:

During a press conference Wednesday, Superintendent Sandra Lewandowski said staff will be focused on providing mental health support to students in the coming days.

She said South Education Center serves students who are “very diverse with a lot of needs,” under a model which focuses on destigmatized mental health support. The district had previously made the decision to remove its metal detectors and hired school safety coaches to be positioned in the buildings, saying it was the best model for students and families.

“Our population of students, many have significant mental health needs, and we do not have the kind of support on an ongoing basis to meet those needs. It’s a goal of this legislative session and part of the governor’s budget to focus on that. We certainly support that and heartily endorse any kind of help we can get to provide the students with what they need,” Lewandowski said.

In September, South Education Center went into lockdown after a student was found with a handgun. Police responded and took the student into custody. No one was hurt in that incident.

The school is closed on Wednesday and Thursday and will reopen for class on Friday.

I would say that removing those metal detectors and replacing armed security with School Safety Coaches does not appear to be such a good idea right about now. Can someone explain how this was the ” best model for students and families ” – It doesn’t seem to be for these students and their families at this moment. Get ready for another round of politicians starting up the whole – We need to get rid of the Guns push again.

How would a metal detector or armed security guard have done anything for the two victims. They were shot at outside standing on the sidewalk.

Sorry I did not realize the shooting took place outside the school. Either the news clip I saw did not say that, or I missed it. It still seems odd to ME that a school that states a large amount of their students have Mental health Issues or behavioral Issues would remove Things that would improve safety

What gets me is Civil rights attorney Nekima Levy Armstrong, who is co-chair of the Community Safety Workgroup, has said NOTHING about a young man losing his life to gun violence, yet she is demanding center stage spotlight on the Minneapolis Police shooting somebody that pointed a gun at them.

And you wonder why nobody pays attention to the news.

The fella killed, was attempting to defend himself from armed intruders bursting into the home.

I suspect my actions would have been exactly the same.

A statement has been issued about that this morning and bodycam footage has been released. A no-knock search warrant was executed. This one does not look good if you ask me. This isn’t even the right guy who is a suspect either and has no connection to the crime at hand. No criminal history and no connection to a crime, yet the police come in locked and loaded and shoot him.
