I was heading south towards lake city Saturday around noon. Watched a rod fly out of a very nice fiberglass boat. Had a rod sock on it . Anyone lose a scheels xtreme trolling rod? Lead core setup..

They’re nice rods, but I’m no help on locating the owner.

On a side note 2 weeks ago I watched a guy get a snag on Pool 4 trolling over 3mph…clearly didn’t have drag set correct and it snapped his rod holder and he lost everything. Come full circle a couple hours later at the launch a guy snagged it, and I told him the kind of boat it was and he got it back to the original owner.

Driving down the highway with unsecured rods in rod socks is always in danger of flying out. A fishing partner lost an expensive rod and reel the same way. Rod socks basically form a wing with lift enough to send the rod over the back of the boat when it hits the air stream.

Yep I got lucky and caught a rod about to launch and got it to drop back into the boat with a quick tap of the brake. Also lost another sock, luckily the rod stayed, so from now on if the cover is not on the boat any rod with a sock goes in the truck.

In the truck or I wrap a short bungee around the rods if I have multiple which is most the time
