Grand opening today. I waited until about 10:30 this morning and then headed to the mall to see what the store was like. Huge for starters. I’m thinking Gander Mountain and Cabelas will not enjoy the competition but, well, that’s retail. Fleet Farm has its own solid following and will be ok.

The fishing area is laid out nice and things are easy to locate. Pricing on the popular tackle seemed to be in line with Gander and Cabelas. Its nice to see more tackle specific to this region, something I think Scheels is noted for. The gun/hunting area is a dandy too.

I did a quick walk-thru today with the throngs of others wanting to see what the buzz was about. I” hit it up another day during the week when its less busy. Nice store though and is certainly going to fit in well with the Mall. This is the first sports related store the mall has had.

All my fishing rods of late are Scheels brand. Hard to beat their warranty.
