Been seeing commercials on TV lately for “now hiring,” however I was just wondering if the store is open yet and if it is has anyone been there? Are they keeping items in stock unlike so many other outdoor retailers at this time?

Can’t speak for that location but I was at the Rochester location on Monday and they were pretty much fully stocked. Went to fleet farm also and it was just pathetic to see there inventory

I live close to it, it’s massive. About time they get a good sporting goods store in the area

It’ll likely go quick once open. Supply chains are stressed especially those that use China products. Or is that not even a thing nowadays?

I wish I had a Sheels close to me. The little bit i get to Sheels or ordering from them has been terrific. FF and Cabelas are both 70 minutes away and both are starting to suck for inventory AND their CS is slipping badly.

I’m sitting on a $400 gift certificate for Scheels and the closest one is St. Cloud. Eden Prairie would be a little closer I guess. Funny thing is right now I really don’t have anything specifically that I need. I’m sure if I wait long enough something shiny will come along that will catch my eye and then I’ll just shop from my lap top.

I knew that it was going to be about a 2 year-long project. I heard they were going to build it there years ago already. Not sure why, but I also heard it has an indoor ferris wheel.

Is this one going to be full service, e.g., guns and ammo?

I believe so, maybe it isn’t connected to the mall anymore? Not 100% sure

It seems our Mankato Scheels is staying pretty well stocked. fishing line seems to be the biggest problem. That appears to be an issue with other retailers as well (FF). I have found the staff at our Scheels to very knowledgeable and attentive to need/wants of their patrons.

Some of the things it will have.

    Ferris Wheel
    Mini Bowling
    16000 gallon Aquarium
    Indoor synthetic ice rink
    Fuzziwigs Candy Factory
    Shooting gallery
    Arcade
    Archery lanes
    Cafe

And yes I have heard it will have a full gun shop

The fleet farm in Waite park is worse than Bad. It is a Joke. I truly don’t know why they even have fishing gear anymore. They might as well just use the area for more clothing and Guns. It seems like that is about all they want to sell these days.

The scheels in Saint cloud was shocked decent when the opened back up. The shelves are starting to look picked over rather good these days though.

Glenn – Is it going into the old Shopko on the east Side or the one more on the West side? Different people have told me different answers. I would prefer if it was the one on the East side. That one is only a few minutes away from my work. I sure hope they do a good job on fishing supplies.

The Carver Fleet Farm fishing department is super picked over too. EP Scheels will be awesome, but the fact of the matter is fishing and ammo are two of the biggest selling areas right now (along with many others like Bikes) and supply just can’t keep up. People are getting outdoors and picking up hobbies, which is good!

I must confess to all those who will read this. I must be a communist, socialist, russian, chinese, or something that’s not american. Haven’t been in a Scheels in years, I confess this sin while hanging my head in shame blush

To be fair, the E.P. store had the name but wasn’t a real Scheels. St. Cloud was too far or a bit out of the way when heading north. Growing up we had 2 in town and visited religiously. In college it was a pilgrimage but had to remember to leave the wallet in the car. Heck I was in there enough in college they actually hired me. Brother worked at a different location too. This was before ferris wheels and arcades devil

Is anyone planning to check out the new EP Scheels soon? They are opening tomorrow, July 11. I would like to go a day next week so if anyone makes a visit when they open please report back what kind of stock levels they have. I have to assume they are going to open with full stock but with the shortages of items and supply chain issues, you never know.

I had a chance to see the store this week. All I will say is go check it out this weekend, you won’t be disappointed.
