    Fished out side of weed line about 10 yards, no fish,then fished right in the weeds only small fish, then just out side the weed edge about 1 yard got these. The bigger gills would not take wax worms, used many jigs wax worms and different plastics. With no results just lookers. Then tided on a size 16 black diamond jig with a red blood worm imitation. Got these . The gills took this aggressively. Kept a few to eat. Caught more then I could keep track of.

    Nice fish. I like using a 2mm black fiska for finicky gills with spikes. Lately the gills have aggressive enough that we haven’t had to downsize yet. Bigger ones were picky though last weekend and preferred a bobber rig over a lure jigged with a spring bobber. My son schooled us using a bobber. Size and color didn’t matter as much as the action did.
