I was out there a few years back visiting Wyotech. There is a bait shop/convenience store that hooked me up. If I remember right it is Larime bait maybe. If you go up into the mountains you can catch a lot of small brookies and some splake in the streams. I did the best near the beaver dams. There is a lake just outside of town that I caught a few in as well. I was using flies. Renegades and Royal Wulffs worked the best. Good luck!

thats why i am out here. i don’t know how to use a fly rod but i have a few homemade things that should work. i think most of the state has a limit of 16 brookes with not more than 6 over 8 inches maybe that accounts for the small size

Good luck to you seems like a good school that takes care of their students. They are sending me down to the Daytona campus the last week in January. That should be a nice break from the cold

    Matt,
Sorry to post so late to your thread but I haven’t peeked at this (salmon/trout) in a while. I’m originally from Western Nebraska and we always stopped at the West Larimie Fly Shop. They have the best reports of what’s happening and where. There is a TON of PRIVATE water out there so be careful where you go. I do fly fish, and I really miss it out there.
