Spent the day down in the Whitewater valley looking for morels and doing a little trout fishing. The water is still very clear so its very easy to spook the fish. I could pick up one or two trout per hole and they would then go into hiding. The best fish of the day was the 16 1/2 brown pictured. Had 5 over 12 inches until the rain started and then headed for home.
I found about 10 morels today all of the smaller dark variety. Just enough to give me a tasty snack. My guess is another week or so and they will be out in good numbers. Thought some of you might like to know.
