Anyone headed out trout fishing this weekend? I’m taking my 10 and 12 year olds up to Ely for their first trip. Hopefully it doesn’t stay TOO cold…weather reports are saying highs in the single digits. That’s bearable anyway…wondering if anyone else is going that direction?

Same as Alex…Tofte on Sat a.m., and then Miners Sunday a.m. Have a room at the Grand Ely Lodge so the boys can swim on Sat. night!

We’ll probably be at the pool by 4 pm. If you see 2 kids swimming and a guy sitting there looking bored with a beer in his hand stop and say HI!

Does anyone have a current report on ice conditions on Grindstone? I heard that it may not look good for driving on the lake???

My buddy was on grindstone today and caught some rainbows and smelt. He said there was 6″ of good ice, with crap ice on top. Nobody was driving
