Gill Lice On Huge Brookie

    Last year my friend Joe caught and released this massive small stream brookie. Was his longest ever. Joe was freaked out by the gill lice and the open gill plate. He wasn’t sure if the gill lice caused the gill plate opening but he let the brookie go because he actually considered it not edible and was not going to mount a trout he wouldn’t eat.
    Yes you can mount and eat a trout.
