Chub Meat Bait

Does anyone have any luck with it? I’ve heard stories and have gave it a try but no luck. Any tips if it works for you? I’ve filleted a piece off and put it on my hook.

I’ve used chub meat a lot for trout, it’s my go to when nothing else seems to work. now I’m not saying it’s a magic bait but I’ve had a lot of success with it.

I’m going for stream trout.

I used to use it a lot. I would fillet the side of a chub and cut the fillet in long thin strips. I would then hook it on the end. Use very small split shot for the best results.

I’ll try again. I’ve just never had any luck with it. Any special hook? How big of a fillet do you use?

long ago i used chub tails.
about a half inch of above the tail
and a size 2 hook through that half
of meat. Really have to fish it proactively
because trout suck it down to their toes quickly.
