What a difference a few days make. I was able to get out for a few hours Thursday and was not disappointed.
I found the river to be a little lower and a little clearer. The water temperature was still about 40 degrees and the weather was cloudy and cold.
I started out throwing a copper version of the new Hole-bow Spinner that was pounced on at the very first cast by a nice Rainbow. After that the action was very steady and no reason to change lures.
I fished for two hours, landed and released 38 trout, a combination of Brown and Rainbow, most were in the 10” to 12” range, and nothing over 13”.
I kept 3 for Sue and I, and let the rest swim.
My camera battery went belly-up after the first fish, so only one good photo. My fingers were to cold and numb to work the little buttons anyway.
Looks like copper spinners are still going to be the best choice for now.
