I don’t have the privilege of fishing wild browns, but around here when the water gets dirty I pull out the trusty old mepps aglia #0- all silver, undressed treble. The stocked bows, holdover bows/browns, and stocked brooks go NUTS over it when the water is nasty. From rough rapids to deep pools, the vibration and flash allows them to find it in the nastiest water. Used to be a live bait guy before I found this spinner. Roostertails, blue fox, panther martins, and the rest do not even compare. I own them all, but when the water is dirty these catch fish!

    Good luck!

be sure to check the regulations to see if minnows are legal. In a lot of places they are not. If you have to use live bait go with red worms, otherwise try small rapala’s or spinner baits. size 6 husky jerk has been a goto for me.
