Personally I think lakers are king in any water system! The lake trout are more agile they have the ability to shoot from a 100 fow to the surface in a blink of an eye, they work like a pack of wolves to wound a school of baitfish, there unpredictable, they are bigger, and they fight way better! Northerns may eat ducks or try to bite you when your getting the hook out of there mouth but I’ve seen alot of interesting things in a lakers stomach. Over the years I fished Lakers in my area of northeastern minnesota, northwestern Ontario, Wyoming, Yukon, and Alaska! I’ve seen rainbow trout, Kokanee salmon, perch, walleye, small northerns, eel pout, whitefish not even fully digested in there stomachs. I’ve cut open hundreds of laker stomachs and have found Sand, gravel, hooks, jig heads, tiny bones from critters, but mostly bait fish! The lake trout to me are king of the lakes! They are faster, stronger, and down right mean!
