I know you guys are the experts on wading rivers in waders. My question is how do I freshen up my neoprene waders. They also are the type with boots attatched. Like what duck Hunters wear, quak quak.

Inside, it’s starting to build up that sweaty lockerroom smell.

Try eating a couple bowls of chili washed down with a 6’er of Busch the night before you go. That will chase that stinky foot smell right out of them. Homemade febreeze.

Seriously though. Its easier to keep the stink out than it is to destink them. Make sure you hang them up when you’re done so the insides can dry out. To clean them, turn them inside out (except for the boots) and get after em with some warm water and a bit of dawn. Dry completely. Waders, particularly neoprene, always seem to stink a little though. Doesn’t seem to bother the fish any.

Thanks, I plan on inverting them and putting them on a six foot ladder and giving them a bath on a dry warm breezy day . Just wondering what solution you guys recommend.

As far as I know that is the best option. I would use a mild dish soap sparingly. Neoprene is pretty tough. You could run that same program in the shower too if you don’t want to wait for spring.

At work we have a crew of dudes that wear waders daily. They’ll throw them on a wader dryer when they get particularly damp and rank.
