    downstream view…

Which way would you prefer fishing and why?

After a few moments enjoying your photo’s Len, I came to the conclusion that I would take my time and fish both ways.

I see + and -‘s both directions. As an OF, the flat meadow is inviting although the bush and scrubs break up the anglers outline.

Yes…I would go both ways and be late for whatever I was to do the rest of the day.

Up stream for me, you need the cover. If you let me know where it is I would be willing to fish it for you and then give you a report of which was better.

we did an index of biotic integrity study on a stream just like this one that had a bridge spliting the reconstructed side from the natural side to see if the money spent does in fact improve a stream or river over its original state. after two days of shocking and checking the numbers, each side had an almost similar IBI number.

I’m going to say if the rehab is less than 5yrs old, I’m going upstream first. Why? Fish water like this before. Don’t know if it was human pressure or disturbed stream sides and bottom, but fishing the old was better for about 5 yrs. after rehab..
If it’s older than 5yrs. I’d go downstream because of the easier casting and walking but wouldn’t hesitate to try upstream if I wasn’t getting them.

Depends on conditions, aproach, and what side I am coming from. For the most part I will fish upstream a few steps at a time. Except for streamers. I like to fish downstream and cast out and across at a 45 and strip back. seem to get alot of good reaction striles that way.
