Sometimes things turn out well, I was supposed to take the boat up to Two Harbors the 11th-12th of this month and it fell through.

I have now been invited to fish out of Bayfield for Friday-Sunday, I have never been there and my partner has been there only twice.

    I think/hear it’s mainly Laker’s that we’ll see this time of year ??
Any suggestions on how to fish them or whatever else is there would be apreceated.

Postpone your Maddie trip until the smallies are hot in the bay next May or June… or consider heading down to Hayward for muskies this time of the year. Might be good time to charter a sailboat and just kick back and enjoy the sunsets.

I was up there one month ago and hired Jim Hudson for a day of laker fishing. It was a fun time with the GF. We caught a lot of fish but most were small. Had three good ones in the 10-15 lb range that we let go but the little ones are phenomenol table fare. The scenery is amazing, the people are very nice, and theres a lot to do up there besides fish. In addition to the laker fishing, I understand there is a pretty decent walleye bite going on up there as well, and smallies are still around just not like in spring and fall. For what its worth, i really enjoyed my trip up there. It wasnt like giant fish were jumping in the boat, but the bites decent and the scenery and people make up for what it might lack in fishing. Have fun if you go!

    Thanks all.

No Musky’s for Larry, maybe walleyes though..:)

Only get so many three day weekends, so I have to grab them when I can, and it’s a chance to see a friend who I don’t see often.

Thanks for the PM’s and no, I won’t mention the secrets you told me, besides you know how the C&R bunch gets when C4 and gill nets are mentioned…

I think maybe fishing is the big guys way of saying your alive and enjoying life, catching fish might just be your way of saying you did it well.
Not sure if that makes sense.

Looking forward to going to a new spot, heard a lot about this area and we were going to go there last year but it never happened.

    Thanks all
