I usually go out of Two Rivers. We fish the trap nets north of the port and in front of the power plant south of the port. You need to travel out a good distance to get to deep water. We usually fish the 60-90 foot depths. Good Luck

Nets… I’ve never fished a port where nets were an issue. Are they well marked? Bouys? lighted? Easy or hard to see in the light/dark? Totally hidden (gear stealers?)

I assume the marina will have info on where they are, but if I want to avoid them completely should I just stay south of the port?

Or are they in more than one location?

    — Any decent catches been coming out of T.R. lately, or has the warm water slowed things down?

    Thanks!

the sailboat buoys in sheboygan are NOT marked , with lights at all big fish last wknd was 17 lbs most were 5-8 , fishing is tough with warm water , need a good west wind to push it all out

When are you planning on fishing out of TR? I’ll be there next thurs thru sun. Stop in at Seagull Marina in town- Scott always has the updated map of where the nets are located. Just stay far far away from them!!! And make sure you have a cutter of some sort on board- it’s now the law to have one on board just in case you get tangled in them.

I used to leave for there right after work and bust tail to set up camp and get the boat ready to fish the next morning. Going out for the first time in the pitch black of the pre-dawn hoping you won’t find the nets the hard way isn’t my cup of tea anymore. Now we get out for the first trip in the afternoon so we can mark the nets on the GPS when we see them.

Shoot me a pm if you have any questions- been going there 25 years now…

I was there 3 weeks ago and the fishing was best for us north of the nets in 120-135 fow up towards the lighthouse.
