Planning a trip to Two Rivers in July… I usually fish PW, and have never fished north of Sheboygan except for on a charter years ago…. How is bottom structure in Two Rivers? How fast does it drop off? (example, how far from shore is 100 fow)… Any other ports in the area that would be good to try also if the TR salmon population isn’t cooperating for us? (Manitowoc, etc…) Can I expect fishing, contours, depth, etc, to be similar to PW/Sheboygan, or are there some major differerences?

How are the launch/fish cleaning station/port facilities?

Thanks for any general info you can offer, just trying to get a feel for the area – should be fun fishing some new ports!!

pretty much the same as down south. check at the bait shop to see if there are any commercial nets in the area before you go out and PAY ATTN to that info. Lost more than one set of DRs to those nets.

as far as bottom topos, you can get those on line now free. as i recall there was not much difference until you got up to sturgeon bay. the bait shop will tell you where the last schools were found. the charter captns aren’t going to talk with you until you’ve proven yourself as a competent fisherman, then you will get a load of info, but that usually takes 2-3 seasons. your best friend is the bait shop. but that will be more than enuf start and put some fish in the box. the shop wants you back.

    the TR facilities are great.

the main thing to watch is the on/off shore winds and where the water temps are going. that will tell you where the forage fish are going, which will tell you where the preds are .

check with catn jim hirt on here and read his most current reports. take that info and apply it farther north.

It drops off faster in PW, Sheyboygan, Kewaunee, and Algoma. You have to run a bit farther in TR but the point north of town has some great fishing. The facilites are fine,…you can even get some MCDonalds breakfast from the water. Kewunee and Algoma are good if you like the smaller town atmosphere. door County for the tourist atmosphere.

Been going to TR for over 25 years now. Give Scott at Seagull Marina a call or stop in at the store, he’s always got a handle on the bite. For my boat, green is usually the color of choice, as always glows are the early and late colors. In July, I head North to the lighthouse, concentrating in the 120-180 range, but as always, it’s normally just a starting point.

THERE ARE USUALLY NETS AT TR!!! Again, stop in at Seagull and get the updated map. I try to make our first trip on the water in the daylight so I can skull and crossbones the nets on the GPS. The markers can be very hard to see in rough(er) conditions. Found those darn things the hard way once… It only takes once to learn..

Pm me- I’ll be there mid July and early August camping at Seagull- oh yeah, they have transient slips too.
