doctor spoons in a couple of sizes will allow you to cast or troll.
kastmasters can be jigged and cast.
    silver minnows also for casting/trolling.
carry a collapsible minnow trap and a large peanut butter jar with small holes in the top.
you should be able to catch minnows and leeches for live bait also.
canoe trolled Rap DT10 and DT 16s should work well also: blue, silver/black and firetiger would be my choices.
    good luck and report back.

Jigging a 1 ounce white bucktail is hard to beat. Make sure it has a stinger hook on it. Hook a large chub minnow on it, or a small sucker, you just want some meat on it. Let the treble (stinger) dangle so it is NOT hooked in the minnow. Northland makes a nice bucktail. White or pink are the best colors. I would focus in the 50 to 70 foot range.

Are you talking about the Little Trout Lake east of Trout Lake north of Lake Vermillion? If you are that lake is not deep enough to hold lake trout. You would pass through Trout Lake on your way and that does hold lake trout.
