Salmon flies

So I’m new to this salmon fly thing.

I tied these tonight using silicone skirts commonly used for spinner baits. The second bait I tied some green tinsel to the hook. Do others do this?

Need your thoughts?

Last year I made more flies than I will probably use in a lifetime..anyways..used Mylar, beads, etc you can order the kits online, they actually work pretty good, actually caught some fish on them last year which was my first year getting into the Flashers and Flies Club. I had my best luck on ones that had greens, blues, whites, iridescences. This year I have been concentrating on making Peanut Flies for Coho..looking forward to getting out to try them. Good luck
