I’ve caught some very skinny bass from the retention pond, but this is the worst one to date. I saw him gulp the lure and just sit there. Then I dragged him in with no fight.

It’s closer to a crappie with that girth or lack thereof.

Bet there is a senko type plastic in his belly. Used to see it a lot in the ponds in So Cal. Many times I could squeeze them back out. Even had one puke out a full one and a half one.

That’s odd considering bass eat turtles and crayfish and puke out the undigestable stuff after. I am not doubting what you say, more I am wondering why they wouldn’t be able to puke out the senkos.

That being said, I doubt it’s the case here. I am the only one that fishes it for the most part and I may have used senkos once or twice.

I posted it to my fish strong app and some guy was like, it’s not starving, it’s a normal post spawn bass. I said do you see the atrophy and sunken eyes…not to mention it’s mid June.

You should be ashamed of yourself for picking on the sickly ones grin

No,it’s because a walleye is as easy to catch as a starving bass. Might also be the way you described the fight it put up, reminds them of their big catch.
