Just wondering if anybody’s been around Rush lately and seen Ice conditions in that area. I’m planning on heading out there Wednesday evening and just wondering if I need to go to plan B before heading out.

East/West Rush in Chisago county? If so, there’s 2-1/2″ at the landing. Guys were fishing to the North in the bay. No one was out by Cigar island yet. (west) Not sure how thick on east but there were guys by the landing.

Ben, I’ve been out on Coon lake in Anoka co and found 3″ in some places and <2″ in other places that were exposed to wind during ice up. Considering the forecast on Wednesday I’d be extra careful out there. If you find 2″ anywhere I’d stay far far away. It’s going to be very weak in those warmer temps.

Thanks for the information, looks like I’ll be headed further north, and quite likely a smaller body of water as we won’t be gaining any ice today or tomorrow. I’ll repost here Thursday morning with how much ice I find wherever I end up going to help with weekend plans.

Traveled up to the Moose Lake area last night, fished a smaller lake (<1,000 acres) and had 4-5″ of ice anywhere I cared to go. The front that came through I don’t think helped much as only a few smaller pike and some perch came above th ice.
