Thinking about adding another starting battery with as much electronics I run in my boat. Anyone run 5 batteries total in a WX2060 with pictures of a layout in the compartment? I am not sure if I can fit 5 or not?

I have only put the three tray in my WX2200 I think the WX2060 is about the same size, I have 3 AGM group 34 batteries for my trolling I will be purchasing a lithium for the fifth battery to save weight and used for my electronics. With a little modification I think I can get three group 31 batteries in to replace the group 34’s in future if needed, before and after photos attached.

June 19, 2020 at 1:47 pm #1951226The 5th wont fit in the floor unless it was a sub compact size of some sort.
I would suggest up sizing your start battery first to a agm & biggest you can buy. I believe your best option , but the 5th battery will need to go under the jump seat otherwise.brentbulletsPosts: 318June 20, 2020 at 4:54 am #1951329The 5th wont fit in the floor unless it was a sub compact size of some sort.

June 20, 2020 at 6:58 am #1951331The 2014 WX 2060 I bought used had 2 batteries under the the jump seat. He turned them 90 degrees and added a second tray. It isn’t very fun taking them in and out but it can be done. I will be home late Sunday night and can get a picture for you if you want one.
June 22, 2020 at 7:53 am #1951616I think I might just have to jump from the 27 Group Starting Battery to a 31. I don’t have room under my jump seats as they’re full of tackle.
Musky EdPosts: 673June 22, 2020 at 10:24 am #1951650Chris, given that you have a 27 now, I would think that a upgrade to a size 29-31 would be a noticable upgrade, just look at the specs, and get the strongest one that you can get. May cost a bit but probably about 50lbs less than trying to add another battery, and lets not forget rigging needed to charge 5 batterys.
June 22, 2020 at 10:30 am #1951653I moved to a 31 last season and have had no issues. I run 3 graphs: a 12 and 2 9’s, livescope and a ps30 right now and have not had any issues with a couple 14 hour days on the water, while running the live well. Might add a 4th graph and have thought about the 5th battery option too. I have a pair of jumpers in the boat just in case, but luckily haven’t needed them yet.
Phil AmesPosts: 51June 29, 2020 at 11:30 am #1953365That is the way I had my WX2060 set up when I had it. Got all 4 group 31 AGM’s in the floor. Never a problem. Ran 2-HDS 9’s, HDS 12, Troll control, livewells, VHF’s. Never ran out of power. Upgrade from 27, to a 31, and put in a battery jump switch if you are nervous about it. That is what I did on my 2190.
Zach PoehlerPosts: 13August 2, 2020 at 7:51 pm #1962441I have a 2019 wx2060 and bought a cheap 27 series everstart cranking battery from wal mart and keep it in the front drivers side compartment on the bow way up near the trolling motor (lots of room up there)..had a issue with the bow graph shutting off everytime I cranked the big motor. It Serves dual purpose as it runs my front graph all day and also can be used as a spare cranker if needed. I also carry a BEATIT 2000 amp jumper in my battery compartment..had to use it a couple times this spring when my interstate cranking battery would die after 2-3 hrs of running 2 graphs and both times the 250 fired right up after being fully dead!! I have since replaced the interstate with a Duracell Platinum size 31 AGM and the duracell is legit, i’ve been out all day running graphs, livewell pumps and radio and have never had an issue..that is where I would start but having a little jumper is also a must!!
