Peltier Lake Fishing

I went to Peltier Lake Wednesday afternoon to see what I could find. It was my first time fishing that lake. I went out from the access and decided to fish around where all the ice houses were congregated. I went a little past most of the houses to the outside of them so I would not be too close and bother anyone I drilled a hole in 13 feet of water and the locator spotted fish on the bottom. I set up and stayed in that spot all day.

I fished with waxies and crappie minnows on a diamond jig and a gill pill. I tried many colors and sizes. I caught most of my fish on a gold diamond jig and a white glowing gill pill. I caught all sunfish – all on waxies. They were large for the most part, but fishing was slow. I fished from 2:30 PM until 6:00 PM. I averaged one sunny per half hour. The fish were there, but they were not aggressive and most that I saw on the locator would come off the bottom to look at the bait, then go back down to the bottom. Most were caught while I was jigging the bait very slightly. I left with 7 nice sunnies. I might try it again this weekend. I hope this report helps!

Thanks for the report. That sounds like some decent fishing. I havent made it over that way yet but usually do sometime during the winter. Where there a lot of people out there?

The ice was about 9 or 10 inches. There were a few trucks on the ice on Centerville Lake. I am thinking of trying Centerville Lake on my next outing. I would like to find some crappies and walleye.
