I don’t know where to put this, but this looks like as good a place as any. I fished and checked the ice on Green Lake (near Princeton), Blue Lake, and Baxter (both near Zimmerman). I found 4-7 inches on each of the lakes. Green had a clear 4-6 inches in all the holes we drilled. Blue also had 4-5 inches in the dozen holes I drilled. This was my first time on Baxter but I fished a few open holes and found plenty of action and 4-7 inches with probably 8 inches closer to shore. I only had the morning to be out, but I caught a limit of crappies and a bunch of little perch and bluegills. I also caught a few nice bluegills that I released for another trip out. Feels good to be out again.
