I took a ride from the north end of St Francis 12 miles upriver past the walbo access but got to a log jam I could not get over or cut through with thesaw I had with. After I got home I saw on the map that is a access off 7 south of green lake. Has anyone used it or been past it? I don’t remember one being there before.

First picture is where I had to turn around the other day.

Second picture is where the map says there is a ramp?

I see guys with canoes launching from time to time. Is that what you wanted to know or how to get there?

I know my paper maps from a couple years ago do not show that there is a ramp there but on the DNR site it does. Looking at at the satellite view on Google maps I do not see anything where 7 crosses the rum. Are you able to get a trailer in the water there or is it a carry down access?

I would like to try and make it the rest of the way to Princeton in the boat.

I’m not real sure which access you are talking about. There is one about 1/2 way between Princeton & Cambridge. It’s on the south east side of the highway. Just so happens I have some free time in the morning jester I’ll check it out and get back to you in this thread if that works?

How big a boat do you need to launch?

The one I am asking about is south of green lake on 7. The one that you can see from 95 is the walbo access and to get any further upriver then I did the other day it would take some time with a chainsaw.
The second photo with the red drop pin is where that access is on the map.

A light 16′ Jon boat. I have used some horrible ramps but at the carry in accesses they normally have steps. It would not be the first time I drove to a boat ramp that turned out to be a carry in access.

I know that access! Launch right at the bridge on the North West side. Sandy but you should be able to back right down there.

Last fall I launched from 7 and tried to make it to princeton. There were a few single logs down that I has able to hop over with my jet jon but just before the river turns north there was a big log jam 2-3 feet high.

Thanks for the pictures Dutchboy! Looks like a nice ramp compared to a lot that I have used.

Well I made to Princeton and then some and called it quits. Chainsaw would be your boats friend after a few miles up from that ramp. Fun trip but I don’t know that I need to make it a habit of running that stretch.

Just cruising. I never threw a saw in the boat. Wish I would of had one in a few spots. It sure would suck in a canoe in a few spots.
