My “ruff and tuff” GSPs Remi and Fritz curled up in their blankets in the cool AC the other day. They were sleeping so hard, Remi had his nose smooshed into the bed and Fritz was snoring just a bit.

Blankets? Sheesh. Ripley must be hot-blooded. He doesn’t even like a pad in his crate!

    They look so cozy.

Well, Ripley’s got a bit more hair than my boys, too! Their short hair doesn’t keep them very warm and it was pretty chilly in our basement. mrgreen

Thank you! I see in the Dogs of IDO post you have two pointers as well. They look like wirehaired pointers. Very pretty dogs! )

Reagan gets VERY obnoxious once the summer heat comes. He will whine at the door like he needs to go potty. Let him out, he lays in the sun on the deck. 15 minutes later, he’s whining at the door again to come back inside. Comes inside panting from being hot, lays on the tile for 10 minutes and the cycle repeats itself…ALL DAY…

In the morning, he will nudge me while I’m eating breakfast and then run to the couch, then run back and nudge me. He will continue until I walk to the couch and cover him with a blanket…he will disappear there until I leave for work.

If it’s raining, he doesn’t mess around. Runs to the grass, does his business and immediately runs back to the door to be let inside. He HATES rain and wet grass unless he’s wearing his vest.

Isn’t it crazy the personality GSP’s have?..
