Does anyone know where to get the castration rings for attaching ice reels? I got some last year at the ice show I think they were made by cold snap??? I’ve never seen any for sale…

Your local farm supply store will have them. Bag of them for a few bucks.

That seems like a good idea but can they roll off reel seat while using?

No they hold very well but they will dig into the cork on your handles.

They do hold rather well and I have NEVER had even one roll off of any of my rods !
They do leave a little impression on your handle, once you get them on they wont move

I’ve been using using them for a few years now and really like them. Like Gotem said the easiest way to get them is just to pick them up at a farm supply store.

I cut the end off a funnel and put the fat end on the rod handle and then just slide the rings right on, works slick.

That’s a lot of castrating for just a little bit of money.
    What a deal!
