Oh, just realized this, I used to have two different types but ended up giving them away…. Boot blankets. Check them out. Made to go over a light boot/shoe when your sitting for a while, like deer hunting.

If we’re talking uninsulated rubber boots, it can’t be done. You can only improve from having cold feet to having moderately cold feet. If you try to stuff more/thicker socks in, you cut down the circulation and negate any gain.

Getting neoprene jobbies like Muck Boots can extend the comfort range to a certain extent, but they still aren’t warm like a pac boot.

Hypothetically, you need more dead air space to get better insulation. One thing we commonly did was put a felt insole on the bottom of the boot which helps a little bit. There’s kind of a catch 22 situation where adding more socks, insoles, etc to a rubber boot can compromise circulation resulting in cold feet. You can try to oversize the boot but that can create slop while walking. Lack of ventilation doesn’t help either. There are 5mm neoprene boots out there that may extend into the colder season. Bottom line is rubber boots have their limitations.

    Anyone try these boots yet?

Bogs Footwear Snowpocolypse Neo-Tech® Snow Boots – Waterproof, Insulated (For Men) . 10mm waterproof Neo-Tech® upper encased in a tough, protective, pack-style vamp and wraparound rand
Lined with 1000g Thinsulate® and 2mm EveryDry for extra comfort
Max-Wick® moisture-wicking technology keeps feet dry
    10mm wool-blend OrthoLite® footbed offers cushioned warmth
    DuraFresh® biotechnology fights unwanted odor
    Easy-on pull handle cutouts
Slip-resistant, non-marking outsole with deep lugs
    Comfort rated to -112°F

Sierra Tading co has them for $119. Sound kinda heavy at 7lbs for total weight of the boots. May be really warm though.

Don’t have any experience with the Bogs boot, but I LOVE my Baffin Titans (about the same price as the Bogs listed).

I think that Baffin sells just the inserts, that would be one method of insulating a pair of rubber boots (if they were large enough to accommodate the insert).
