Got a pair of waders with rubber boots. The boots are cracked in the ankle area. Already tried Marine Goop. Any suggestions?

It is almost impossible to get anything to hold permanently in a high flex area like the ankle.

If you don’t care how the fix looks then try clear pure silicone caulk. It’s ugly but it’s as flexible as you can get.

I patched a cracked area on a pair of rubber boots with a piece of rubber gasket material and an adhesive called E6000. It’s held up for over a year now.

Looks don’t concern me. The flex doesn’t really concern me either. I need adhesion. The Goop was flexible but did not seen to adhere to the rubber very well. May try shoe goo.

To help any product adhere, rough up the surface of the rubber boot with some fine sandpaper, where you wish to apply the product.

Been my experience when they start cracking like that it’s time for a new pair.
