Vikings will play KC close. Mahomes hasn’t been himself or anything close. They have a misfit group of WRs and a defense that isn’t stellar. I foresee that going down to the wire.

The Twins will win tomorrow. I like the pitching matchup for them now that Verlanders unmatched experience is out of the picture for a bit. Nobody with a brain had Ober NOT getting hit hard by Houston. It’s one game, not the end of the world.

The Gophers aren’t coming back or making this better despite Michigan pulling some key starters already in the 3rd qtr. The discrepancy between the Big 10 West and East has never been larger. This isn’t the Michigan of the last couple years talent wise either…the West is just that bad

yeah i think i have seen enough in 2 quarters. not much has changed in 25 years.

my hats off to you guys that follow this team. these poor kids that come to these games that get all dressed and painted up are the real heroes. at least they are too young to know better and are trying to have fun.

good luck rowing this sinking ship!

K-man has shown flashes but nothing to get too excited about. I’ve been critical of him since the beginning of this year. Might need to look a different direction

The final of 52-10 made the game seem closer than it was. This game was over when the teams were still in the locker rooms.

With Ohio State and Penn State in their division Michigan will have a tough path although they might be the best of the three.

Boy does the boat have a huge hole in it or what. At this rate the only bowl game they will be playing in is the toilet bowl.

The gophers better start looking hard at the transfer portal for a quarterback, receivers and lineman. If the Greek BBgun keeps throwing more touchdowns to the other team, the only thing he’ll be slinging are gyro’s at Dino’s.

read an article last week PJ is concerned about the portal. Claims Minnesota doesn’t have that kind of money these guys get with the NIL. He’s afraid that freshman running back is gone next year.

There’s no shame in losing to the #2 ranked team in the country. Michigan is probably the best team they’ll play this season.

The issue is that they weren’t even remotely competitive. It was quickly 10-0, and Michigan came out with 21 points after the half. Being competitive is one thing, and getting your butt whipped at home is another.

Yes there is shame in getting whipped at home. You spent millions on stadiums, villages & training faculties not to mention coaches.

I’m not sure there was one Michigan player on the field last night that wasn’t better than his Minnesota counterpart.

Time to quit making excuses for Fleck.

That’s not what I posted. If they had been competitive, there wouldn’t be any shame. They weren’t. They did in fact get embarrassed because they’ve weren’t remotely competitive. That’s why its shameful.

I’m sure Sabin is thinking the same thing. The NIL thing is BS and will only make the biggest schools with the most money even more untouchable.

But I was told in this very thread that he was an accurate QB…

I think those throws were pretty spot on, to the defense.

Exactly. No shame there. Michigan is second best team in the country. It’s how they lost which is pathetic.

Fleck said the Gophers were “off schedule”. What the hell does that mean?

That was a very disappointing performance for sure. I never thought we would win, but I expected a better effort than that. Michigan is dang good though and 2 pick sixes will kill you.

When I hear coaches say that I believe it to mean that they have a game plan for set plays like run on 1st or whatever and if they dont get the yardage they need then they are forced to pass more. Whether this is caused by turnovers, penalties or just bad plays.

Are we better than we were… yes. Are we national championship material… no. Do we have a good hockey program ? Yes. Relax

This is a better program now under FLeck no doubt. That was still an embarrassing loss though. I still have faith in this program and Fleck, but I am not delusional and think they will likely ever compete for a National Title. They should contend for BigTen West titles and maybe even BigTen overall at some point.
They are just not on the level as OSU, Michigan etc. This NIL thing is no joke. Sanders middle kid is driving around in a $100,000 car. BTW Dinkytown Athletes is who is behind NIL for UofM. They now have a few agreements with Grey Duck Vodka and Grey Duck Brewing where proceeds go to NIL funding. Imbibe if you so choose. Duck Duck Beer is the one and it started rolling out to liquor stores last week. I wasnt able to find it in Sartell yet, but its coming.

Who’s making excuses for Fleck? Cpt. Musky’s first paragraph above sums up pretty well where they’re at. I saw a stat yesterday showing every Gopher coach’s conference record going back forever, and while I can’t remember exactly Fleck’s was at or near the top. That’s the good. The bad? It’s gotten us to about the middle of the Big Ten West and that’s it, with something left on the table seemingly every season with a bad loss or two. So like Cpt. Musky said, it’s a better program and he is statistically doing better than they’ve seen in years. However, a decision will have to be made over time if the University wants more than the status quo or not. I’d love to see some top-15 rankings, competing for conference championships, etc. And maybe we need a different guy at the top for that. As mentioned, it was already difficult to compete against other name brand schools for recruits, and now the money makes it even tougher unless the U gets enough donations to basically compete in college free agency.

This is true for the rest of the existing teams in the BIG excluding Penn St, Ohio St and Mich. It will only get worse now that we are adding Oregon, USC, UCLA to the BIG next year. It is becoming a business where kids get paid to play now. Not sure exactly how the NIL works, how much the kids can make. I am guessing that if you are a star player on a top 10 rated team you would make more than a star player on a team ranked 50 in the nation. Can’t really fault the kids though since when doesn’t everyone want to be paid the most you can make. Then factor in the transfer portal, where if you were under rated kid coming out of HS and only had offers from under rated/named colleges like Minn, and then you to turn into a star player in college. Most kids would probably leave/transfer from Minn in their junior year to go play for a top 10 team where they have a chance to play for a national title and could probably cash in on the NIL and set themselves up better for the NFL.

I get the NIL arguments, but down by 20-30 points in the 4th quarter, Minnesota ran 11 plays on offense, all of them runs, and this was against 2nd and even 3rd stringers. That’s a coaching issue, not a money issue. We all know you aren’t coming back against Michigan while down multiple touchdowns. But don’t you have to try, or at least look like you’re trying to come back? Just forfeit at halftime if that’s your gameplan.

NDSU is consistently out recruiting MN at this point, and sending multiple players to the NFL every year. Can’t tell me NDSU has NIL deals more lucrative than MN. Attitude reflects leadership. Time for Fleck to go and take his boat with him.

NDSU has 10 active in the NFL and 1 on a practice squad… The Gophers have 14 active NFL players and 4 on practice squads… numbers matter when making statements. coffee (which coach should go based on these numbers ?)
