It will all come down to QB play, just as you can say for a lot of teams. Tanner regressed the last couple years IMO and the reason they couldn’t beat the likes of Iowa and Illinois. He plays above average those games, they win. Heck, they rushed for over 300 yards against Iowa last year and still lost. Gophs always seem to have good RBs but Qb play iffy at best.

I put most of that on Fleck. He wouldn’t call a pass on 3rd on long in either of those games. I do like the Greek kid they have now though. I think he could be their best QB in a LONG time.

Does he go by the Greek freak by chance?

So glad I opened this thread. I came to realize while reading it that the game is on TV right now. The Huskers just got the ball on the 1, first possession for them.

Kaliakmanis looks pretty darn good for a Gopher QB and Old Peej is letting him sling it! They need to convert though!

What a turn of events at the half. They have a disallowed TD, a false start, have to use their last timeout to avoid a 10 second runoff, and then throw an INT and get no points. Sims can’t throw, he’s nothing but a running threat. Stack the box in the second half and force him to throw it.

Kaliakmanus seems to have the one quality that every Gopher QB has had for the past 25 years…..he’s woefully inaccurate..

I know I’m saying this after he just through an awful pick, but he’s fairly accurate, especially in terms of Gopher Qbs.

He’s just gotta step through that throw and rip it about 10mph harder and to the boundary. His WR did have leverage to the sideline.

I thought it was also a pretty lazy route by Jackson. He could’ve fought to come back to the ball a little bit.

Yeah, the receiver was open over if he throws the ball over the top. Could turn out to be a critical error.

    This kick returner is terrible.

I agree with the announcers, blown opportunity by the Huskers. Pound that ball.

What a brutal game to watch. No rushing game at all for the gophers and now the Oline is falling apart.

If I have to listen to one more bit pumping up Deion and Colorado I’m turning the game off.

I thought that was a false start by the left end. He moved way before everyone else.
