That’s not quite true. NDSU had a home playoff game last Saturday and while the seating capacity of the Fargodome is 19,000, the paid attendance was only 7,798.
NDSU is trying to figure out how to get more fans to attend games.

That really surprises me. Are they not that good this year? I thought they were always full.

Outside of Williams arena everything is new at the U as far as facilities.
Silly to think that is an issue in any way. College sports is going a totally different direction. Not a great direction IMO. The NCAA is already throwing their hands in the air and want legislators to step in.

I agree, with the current portal rules and NIL, there isn’t any sort of school pride any more. Like Dan said, these kids are literally free agents now, likely to transfer to the school that A) gives them the best chance of playing or B) biggest NIL deal.

I think once they opened up the NIL rules, they almost needed to go back to the old transfer rules where they lost a year of eligibility. Now with both rules relaxed it’s like the wild west.

One QB who hasnt even officially said he was going to declare for the portal has reportedly received like 10 offers of $1 million dollars in NIL money. Sheesh.

I’m fine with the NIL thing considering these young athletes are literally the cash cow of their schools that generate millions in revenue, but definitely agree that the transfer rule needs to go back to the 1 year sit.

Until that revenue gets thrown to the wind to pay a coach to leave. Cough cough Jimbo Fischer.

So what Ron Meyer was doing at SMU with Eric Dickerson and many of his teammates is legal now? He was ahead of his time.

They are not dominant as they have been in the past but they are good this year again. They won their irst round playoff game 66-3 but they play a tough Montana State team this afternoon in Bozeman and could very well lose. There are some that think the fans are actually bored with seeing the Bison win easily most of the time and want to see them move to the FBS as a way to renew fan interest. I’m a Bison fan and I’m not sure that I agree that they should try moving up to the FBS or not but it’s not my decision.

The only problem with this is not every player is raking in NIL money. A lot of kids are still getting nothing. Doesn’t seem quite fair. I agree they should have to sit a year.

I kind of think the NCAA is going to institute some sort of salary cap to even things out.

It’s getting past the point of ridiculousness when some of these kids are losing money turning pro. That blondielocks at LSU cant even go to class now because she’s such a distraction with every perv on campus drooling over her. The old farts running the NCAA had no idea the Pandora’s box they opened with NIL.

Yeah NIL is tough. Seems like 75-100k a year which is what they basically got before NIL should be enough for an 18 year old. A mill plus for being a QB on a team that may not even be ranked doesn’t sound like it is heading in the right direction.

If they are making all that cash, maybe they should be paying tuition, and especially if they don’t get a degree. They should anyway going into pro sports after a certain length of time and not obtaining a degree.

I would think at least a partial solution would be to make scholarship offers non-revocable and non-transferable. Meaning that once that scholarship is offered, it’s on the books until that student athlete no longer has eligibility, or is no longer on a college squad. Meaning that if you wanna give someone a scholarship, you better be damn well sure they’re likely to stay on your squad for at least until they’re pro eligible. The practical effect would be creating a two tier system. The stars can live on their NIL money, move around as they like, and the schools can do what they want to recruit them. The lunch pail guys will get the scholarships, and there’ll be more to go around meaning some marginal folks that would be walk-ons get their school paid.

5th year backup QB Cole Kramer is the starter for Minnesota tomorrow, as Kaliakmanis entered the transfer portal one day after losing to Wisconsin over a month ago, and incoming transfer Max Brosner is not eligible to play.

The Gophers are currently favored by 4.5 points over Bowling Green.

Definitely not a school as big as MN. My guess at the time at the end of the season was that a conversation was had that they were going to bring in someone else and he’d, at a minimum, have to compete for the job next year. I would guess he didn’t have a school in mind but knew he wanted out.

PJ channeled the great Grey Eagle, aka Bernie Bierman, and runs his own version of the single wing to a win.

    Another milk toast win.
So Bowling Green loses to a quarterback in his first and last college start. Oh and with the bowl win the Gophers are still below 500 at 6 and 7. jester
PJ likes to run the hot running back until they’re injured.
