Does anyone have any information on Round Lake, North of Tamarack, NE of McGregor, specifically on its fishability?
I have an in on some lake property there through a friend of a friend, but I am not overly familiar with the area. I fish BSL every opener for the past few years, and I really like that lake, but I don’t think Round Lake is anything like BSL. From the MN Lake Survey, it appears Round Lake is a very clear/clean lake, with visibility over 15 feet. Looks like 1-2 lb. Northern Pike are plentiful, along with Largemouth Bass and oddly Bullheads. It does list Walleye in moderate numbers, but I am going to guess with all the Pike and the clear water, they are tough to target, likely low light hours in the morning/evening, or even night fishing.
I fish for everything, but target Walleye the most, so I guess my question is more directed to the Walleye fishing, is it worthwhile or not? And if not, is it worthy of fishing for other species? Panfish?
If anyone has first hand knowledge and is willing to share, it would be greatly appreciated.
