Round and Grindstone?

Was wondering if anyone has any smallmouth reports? I’ll be up in the are June 5-9 and looking to bass fish these lakes. I haven’t found any recent reports or water temps. Wondering if the fish are spawning or a week or two out yet since the late thaw?

I’m not a bass fisherman, but usually catch a few while fishing walleyes shallow on Grindstone. Haven’t caught a single bass yet. Water temp last night was 49.9 everywhere I saw. Real warm day today though, surface temp was 58 or so throughout the afternoon.

Based on our lakes similar to the two you are talking about, I have a friends who guide SMB’s. They’ve been on lakes that size the last couple days. Friday water temps were 46-48ish and yesterday they were in the low 60’s already!!! The beauty of those systems is that with this upcoming rain and next good wind they’ll mix and be back in the 50’s… that said they’ve been picking up nice fish slow rolling grubs and running jerk baits…
