I got this guy on cut bait 6 feet under a slip bobber fishing for channels. Shortly after this picture it ran a #6 gamkatsu into the side to my thumb.

    Strong fish aren’t they?

How did you do on channels?

The cats were actually pretty sleepy that day. I got a good start to a life list this summer. I think I’m around 12 species, but I didn’t get pictures of all them.

I am envious. I’m gonna try bobbers again one of these days.

    Thanks for sharing!

The slip bobber worked pretty good. I was fishing over a cut bank full of tree roots with a rip rap on the bottom. I figured if I wanted to actually fish rather than constantly retying snagged hooks, the bobber was the way to go. I set it about 2 feet off the bottom and let it float free in the eddy.
