I think I did this out of curiosity more than anything, but I was at a Mall in Thailand this week and I saw these little fish in this tank that are used for, “fish treatment and massage therapy.” The sale’s pitch is that one round of having these fish nibble on your feet, promotes blood circulation and cleaning your skin pores by eating the dead skin. I have to admit that it was relaxing.

I also have to admit that I was tempted to get my pocket pole and throw some dead skin on a small hook. I found out that these fish are called Garra species. Laos has 7 species from this family.

There are a lot of creepy things over here but I just had to try it once. It didn’t hurt but actually felt massaging.

Wade barefoot into about 2′ of water off the north end of the beach at Crystal Lake park on the Burnsville/Apple Valley border… The have thousands of 4″ minnows that were swarming my legs and doing the sucker thing on my skin.

That use to creep me out as a kid. We would be wading around fishing and you’d feel them nipping on your legs/feet. It looked like they were eating the tiny air bubbles off our skin
