I was fishing the Nam Ngum River off a bamboo raft today and I caught this really cool fish. It’s called an Elephant Ear Gourami. I saw 2 of them but only caught the one.
The water is about 8-10 feet deep where I pick up Sicklefin Barbs on the bottom. I also see Zigzag Eels swimming in and out of the Bamboo. I still have yet to catch one. The Elephant Ear Gouramis were swimming around the bamboo when I used a worm down from a float in the bamboo. I saw one of them pick a piece of matted up spider web hanging down from the platform.
Lifelister #2 for the day was a Reticulate Flying Fox which is now in my home aquarium.
