Silver Carp Solution

I don’t want to hear you guys complain about only being able to use one pole for fishing. I know because I complain about it often when I fish MN. Can you count how many poles are represented here?

There is only about 5 fishermen that represnt all of those poles. I actually like this picture because it shows the sport of fishing in another culture. That is my Lao teacher in the picture. He took me to his Silver Carp spot (you know the jumping ones that knock you out when you drive the boat). I should actually show my Lao freinds that method. I think they would all be investing in a boat motor. I have never seen so much dedication devoted to the despised Silver Carp before. These guys harvest everyone they catch too. This could be the answer to our invasive Carp species because these guys know how to catch them. In this picture you only see one group of fishermen. There were other groups fishing this lake as well.

Holy Crap! Can you image how tangled up those lines get’s if they hook-up with a fish!

Wait wait wait. We are asking the wrong questions. These are big powerful fish that should be a blast to catch. I had been lead to believe they are plankton feeders that are impossible to catch on hook and line. How are they doing it?

I don’t know about plankton but these fish eat a dough bait paste (a mixture of rice flour, egg, flavours, etc.) quite readily.
